Texas holds a unique position in American culture. From the iconic cowboys to the American frontier, Texas has its own sense of patriotism.
To learn more about the Texan spirit, Joshua Philipp, host of Crossroads, traveled to the Alamo, where the battle of Texas' independence from Mexico took place.
"I am determined to sustain myself as long as possible & die like a soldier who never forgets what is due to his own honor & that of his country—Victory or Death."
This spirit is alive to this day in Texas. With the current political situation and big tech censorship, Texans' desire for independence seems stronger.
After all, what is the direction of this great nation? Freedom and Communism are competing against each other in the United States.
"Communism abolishes eternal truths. And what is eternal truth, right? It says, Communism abolishes all religion and all morality. We think it's an economic theory, going back to the 1930s. It was never an economic theory. It is a belief. And it's a belief of a cult of man. And that you can only create that cult of man by destroying God, in everything that God created there is a system to recreate society, in the image of man, and not in the image of God." Says Joshua Philipp at a Texas Christian film festival.
In this Crossroads' special episode, Joshua Philipp journeys across Texas to give you a portrait of the Texan spirit.
